History
This is the oldest bikepacking race in Europe, even if it has changed its name more than once. It began as Extreme Race, spent a long chapter as Loudani Ceskou Krajinou, and from 2026 it continues as Lost Ride. The new name also marks a new organising team and a wider welcome for international riders.
Plenty of racers who started with us later turned up near the very front of famous events all over the world. Czechia may not look dramatic on the postcard, but for years we proved that it can hurt a lot.
That wild difficulty was part of the charm in the early days. These days, with a younger generation on the start line, we still want the race to be hard, just a little less crazy, so the route should now be about 99.9% rideable.

2025
The 2025 edition started and finished as a loop in Mlaka near Trebon. Even though the surrounding countryside is known for being flat, the route still delivered plenty of climbing.
The full race included an additional loop into Austria. Riders could decide between the full race and the half race only on the spot, when they reached the split for the extra loop.

2024
In 2024 we tested the loop format, which allowed riders to keep their cars and belongings in one place.
The event started in Doksy near Machovo Jezero, and this time a small part of the route also crossed into Poland.
Edition
2023
The 2023 edition was unique because the route visited three capital cities: Bratislava, Vienna, and Prague.
Some riders loved that idea, some very much did not, but one thing is certain: it set a record.

The 2022 edition started at Vozehak campsite near Kozlany, covered 750 km, and finished at Jemcina campsite by the village of the same name.

2021
The 2021 edition stayed entirely within Czechia and turned into a big home-ground route of roughly 970 km with around 18,000 m of climbing, starting from Moravske Budejovice.
It still had the full Loudani character: fast passages mixed with heat, rough terrain, pushing, carrying, and enough ugly bits to remind everyone that a route does not need foreign mountains to hurt.

2020
The 2020 edition was another all-Czech route, about 660 km long with roughly 16,600 m of climbing, linking together proper trouble from the Doupov area, the Ore Mountains, Ceske stredohori, and Kokorinsko before the finish in Slany.
It was also gloriously wet and muddy. The stories from that year make it clear that Loudani 2020 did not just test legs, but also patience, balance, and the willingness to keep moving while covered in half the landscape.

2019
The 2019 edition was one of the monsters: 828 km, huge elevation, a start near Ostrava, and a route that spent a big part of its time outside Czechia.
It was so rough that riders were offered a shorter fallback option during the race. That probably says enough about the mood of the year, but not quite enough about how much everyone still wanted to finish the full thing.
